USWNT Defeats The Netherlands 2-0 & Wins It's Fourth World Crown at the Final Match of The Women's World Cup France 2019……!
FRANCE(SMI SPORTS,06.7-07.07.19)-The United States Women's National Soccer Team, defeated the Netherlands 2-0, winning their second consecutive world crown and fourth overall at the final match of the Women's World Cup France 2019.
The FIFA world ranked #1 USWNT, has become one of the most powerful and dominant team in the world, earning its four world cup title out eight participations, after defeating the Dutch's team
2-0, in the final game and fourth edition of the Women's World Cup France 2019.
The Stars & Stripes won and finished the 2019 Women's World Cup in France undefeated, with 7 victories in 7 games and outscoring their opponents 26-3 goals, during the entire tournament.
The US reached the final match with The Netherlands, finishing first in the group stage face with 9 points, defeating Thailand 13-0, and setting a new world cup record with the highest scoring victory in Women's world cup history. In the second match Team US beat Chile easily 3-0 and concluded with the group stage with a win over Sweden 2-0.
In the round of 16, the USWNT outlasted Spain 2-1, setting a showdown with the host France in the quaterfinal match and where the Stars & Stripes finished on top, knocking-out the French teaam from the tournament with a 2-1 victory in a trilling ending.
In the semifinals the US took care of England with 2-1 win, setting the stage with the Dutch's team for a final match, that reached the final of a world cup for the first time in their history, after defeating Sweden 1-0, in another semifinal match.
In the final match, the US looked very solid on their defensive line and very agressive on the offensive attacks with many goal opportunities but were saved by the Dutch's goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal, who played hero in the first and second half for the Netherlands.
In the second half the USWNT changed strategy and took control the midfield, putting more pressure the the Dutch's defensive line, till the first goal arrived through a penalty foul at 59' minute on counter-attack.
The foul occured during a US offensive attack, when a ball was centered into the 18', finding Alex Morgan who was ready to intercept the ball but a Dutch's defender Stefanie van der Gragtand, got a foul call for a high-kick on Morgan for a penalty foul.
The penalty shot was executed by Megan Rapinoe, who scored her six goal of the tournament and was awarded with the Golden Boot award and the Golden Ball as the World Cup's MVP by the FIFA's officials at the end of the tournament.
The second goal arrived few minutes later at 69' minute, during another counter-attack through Rose Lavelle, who ran the ball an individual play and shot a left-footed from 25 yards, scoring the second goal for the US and sealing the victory for the Stars & Stripes of 2-0 over the Netherlands.
